Drama unfolded on tuesday, when Massachusetts polices were in hot pursuit of a suspect in a high-speed chase. The pursuit continued into N.H and troopers from N.H were also involved.
Finally the suspect gave up and surrendered in Nashua, N.H and knelt on the ground. Despite that, due to some adrenaline spikes the troopers beat up this speeding suspect Richard Simone Jr., aged 50 and belonging to Worcester MA.
Now, New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster’s office said Massachusetts Trooper Joseph Flynn, 32, and Andrew Monaco, 31, his counterpart from the Granite State on charges of unwanted violent capture of a suspect.
Amidst nationwide protest and concern against use of force by law enforcement this new incident has raised the heat again.
High speed chases like this endangers public life and lives of police as well. But this cannot be taken as an excuse to beat up the suspect on the road in front of media helicopters streaming live feeds to the nation and the world.
We can just hope the police department shows more self control in handling such crisis in future.
