The Boston marathon is the biggest running event in the world.It has total running distace of 42.195 km which is completed as a road race.this event was introduced to pay homage to the solider Pheidippides who was messanger coming from the battle of the Marathon to Athens.
This year boston marathon was held which has seen participation of many noteworthy celebrities and athletes.
In Boston marathon 2016 more than 30,000 completed journey of 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to the Copley Square.
One of the participants Adrianne Haslet,was a ballroom dancer who lost her leg in 2013 attacks finished the marathon in time on prosthetic blade and after spending around 10 hours on the course and also received congratulations from US President Barack Obama.
The final result for the memorable event as the pair of two Ethiopian finished first and tens of thousand were also declared winners. So,it was a triumph moment for Ethiopia gain.
Lemi Berhanu outdo defending champion Lelisa Desisa in the men’s race finishing at 2:12:45.
Next was Dedisa who finished at 2:13:32 and the third one was Adhane Tsegay finished at 2:14:02.
It was for the first time in men’s history that a person from Massachusetts named Zachary Hines finished in top 10 completing in time of 2:12:37.
In women category it was day for Ethiopia again as Atsede Baysa won the women’s division.She completed race in the time of2:29:18.Both Baysa and Hayle will hope to secure a position the Ethiopian Olympic Team.
In the wheelchair men’s category Micheal Hug of Switzerland finished first with time of 1:24:01 but it was lot closer for him this time as the 10 time champion Van Dyk from South Africa was only one second behind .
In the women’s category Tatyana Mcfadden of United States finished first with the record time of 1:42:16.
Now to the next category of handcycle in this Freddie Delosantos of United States finished first with the time of 1:15:10.
