Large Turnout is expected for the Services of Slain Police Sgt. Michael Chesna

On 19 the July 2018, the services of slain Police Sgt. Michael Chesna will be held and a large turnout of people is expected. He was killed when a man opened fire on him and the irony is that the incident happened with the gun of the officer. He is remembered as a fan of sports and a dedicated father.

He was posthumously promoted as a sergeant. He was a US Army Combat veteran too. Chesna is survived by his wife and two young children.

The Services are scheduled to happen on Thursday for 4-8 pm at Saint Mary’s Church in Hanover, MA. The same location will witness the funeral mass on Friday at 11 am.
Police guarded and lined the streets on Thursday morning as the casket carrying the body of Chesna was taken to the Church from a funeral home in Weymouth.

As a sign of mourning for the departed soul, the color in some of the buildings was changed. The Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge changed the color to blue. The mourners are also visiting the Police Department in Weymouth.

The family members appreciate the support extended to the family. The accused is Emanuel Lopes who allegedly grabbed Chesna’s gun and shot him brutally for 10 times. Chesna had gone to the place of an incident because of a report was given by an erratic driver. The incident has sparked rave reviews from the residents and they are upset with the accused too.
