Instead, they will find themselves confused and bewildered navigating through the airport to find a ride to their destination. Massport announced last spring that Uber and Lyft were being transferred to a particular area in Central Parking, which disallowed them to operate a curbside pick up at Logan Airport.

While this move was made meticulously to help alleviate the traffic situation at the airport, the new rule has had many passengers resort to taxi services for their transportation requirements, especially when they are travelling with children. Travelling with family means you have a lot of luggage and your preferred transportation vehicle is a minivan, which means you wait for the right car to pull around. The frustration of not being able to find a vehicle that facilitates your luggage and family members comfortably and securely often leads us to realise how deficient the taxi industry is.

Now that Terminal C is under construction, both taxis and Ubers all have the same pick-up area. The construction project is expected to last at least a whole year, which ultimately means peril for the travellers. The procedure of coming to Boston as a tourist and relying on an app to find your vehicle has turned out to be long, cold, and confusing.

“Having to walk half a mile at 2 a.m. with four bags and two tired kids doesn’t give a great first impression of Boston. Regardless of the recordings of Marty Walsh and Charlie Baker greeting you with trying to ‘welcome you to our fine city’, It doesn’t welcome people and it angers the taxpayers”, says Regina Winslow of Boston, who went through the experience last week.

Governor Charlie Baker and Mayor Martin Walsh are to be blamed for this situation as well. Since they have police-chauffeured SUVs at their disposal to pick-up and drop them wherever and whenever they underestimated the complication and inconvenience their policies created for the rest of us. Some people with kids and luggage now prefer Car Services with Curb Side pickup at Logan Airport.

Massport spokeswoman Jennifer Mehigan said, “Ride app vehicles had caused significant traffic congestion at the airport and moving them to Central Parking was aimed at reducing congestion while providing a better passenger experience. The walk to and from the area is the same as those who park in Central Parking, and by reducing congestion the overall vehicle trip time is shortened.”

One of the reasons for not parking in the Central Parking lot has to do with the extensive price it levies if you are going away for a week or more. Uber came into existence in order to make travel easier and help us avoid parking garages, both of which are being taken away from us due to the new policies.

The new curbside rule at Boston airport won’t give the tourist a pleasing experience.
