If you fly Southwest Airlines, you would soon be using a new terminal at Logan International Airport.<\/span><\/p>\n

Southwest Airlines in Boston will move from Terminal A to Terminal B on August 29th, according to the announcement made by Massport. After August 29th, all ticketing and operations will take place at Terminal B Gates 31A-35. The changes will reflect through updated airport signage.<\/span><\/p>\n

The terminal B is under the optimization process for a budget of nearly $200 million, and the move to move Terminal A to Terminal B is a part of that plan. Under the program, 70,000 square feet of the existing terminal will witness renovation, and 75,000 square feet of new space will be added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, the terminal connects all 37 gates post-security, unites three TSA checkpoints into one, and provides new Automated Screening Lanes. According to a press release, Americal Airlines shifted all of its operations to one side of the terminal, freeing up several gates for the Southwest plan.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a part of the project, Great Hall was introduced into Terminal B in June, which includes exhibits that celebrate New England athletes and sports teams. The hall also contains couches and lounge chairs, a pet relief station, a wall of energy-efficient windows, a dedicated area for kids, and local restaurants.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
